Bodega Cooperativa San Esteban

San Esteban winery, built in 1959, was the first cooperative winery built in the area of Sierra de Salamanca with a participation of 200 members, who owned a total of approximately 200 hectares of vineyards.

In 1994 the upgrading of facilities ocurred incorporating stainless steel tanks, modern machinery and skilled winemakers, all with the aim of producing quality wines that bottled could go to the market with its own brand.

This is the way how Tiriñuelo was born, initially young rosé and red wines and years later the aged Gran Tiriñuelo. In 1999 the Reserva Cumbre was born, which won the first prize in the “Manojo” national awards .

The grapes came from vineyards placed near San Esteban de la Sierra with more than 100 years. Rufete grape, native to the Sierra de Francia and raw materials of these wines, gives a personality to our wines which along with local wines, have got the protection of PDO Sierra de Salamanca.
